This case is about a startup company 3Five8 Technologies and its internet based service called
“ADDA”, comprehensive Apartment management software for Residents Associations
This case is a practical example of how innovation and technology enabled service delivery can
solve real life problems and create new business opportunities. The case also reassures the fact
that successful innovation happens from simple practical problems of society and one just needs
to look around with an approach to problem solving. The founders of ADDA service
faced the problems first hand as members of the residents association and discussed with 30
other resident associations to gather the requirements and understand the magnitude and diversity
of the problems and in the process brought out the clarity of the business processes involved to
base line the requirements and build a unique software solution.
Also this case highlights the initial challenges faced in marketing the service and the strategies
adopted in marketing and influencing the organization buying process and customer relationship
management. The initial challenges they faced were in convincing the office bearers for a paid
service and educating them in a consulting mode and highlighting the key benefits, ease of use
of a hosted service as against building from scratch or using free mail groups. Identifying the
bottle necks to usage and adoption and tackled them by conducting workshops / trainings.
