He provided us with his valuable insights from his experience. Here are some of the daily responsibilities carried out by Society Managers, according to Mr. Vinod:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Upon entering their office first thing in the morning, Society Managers are <a href=\"https:\/\/adda.io\/blog\/2017\/10\/managing-security-personnel-apartment-complexes\/\">briefed by the Security<\/a> about the previous night\u2019s activities. The manager then takes note of any suspicious activities and re-briefs the security staff accordingly.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They conduct a briefing with the technical about tickets and operational issues.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They check for any important mails, verify the attendance and checklists.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To plan their day ahead, they jot down a To-Do List in their diary.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then, one of the crucial tasks is going for rounds around the society premises and examining if all areas are clean, the security is alert and common areas like pools, gym, lifts, DG and other <a href=\"https:\/\/adda.io\/blog\/2021\/01\/common-facility-booking\/\">such common facilities<\/a> are spotless and well-maintained.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If they come across any snags, they raise tickets for the same.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Before exiting their office at the end of day, they account for income and expenses.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the community uses a management software like ADDA, they update the software of the daily functionalities.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Checking for any pending tickets, and replying to emails also falls under one of the <strong>Society Manager roles and responsibilities<\/strong> (if any).&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The To-Do list is cross checked and any important works are carried forward to the next day.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Finally, before winding up the day\u2019s responsibilities, the society manager ensures that sufficient Diesel is in stock for DG, night technical team is available for their duties and sufficient water is available for the night.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-vivid-cyan-blue-color has-text-color\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Pros_and_Cons_of_Being_a_Society_Manager\"><\/span><strong>Pros and Cons of Being a Society Manager<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Pros\"><\/span><strong>Pros:&nbsp;<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If rules and regulations are duly implemented and discipline is diligently followed, the job is relatively easier.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Creating a good rapport with customers, bringing in transparency and showing endless dedication is rewarded with a lot of sincere appreciation and gratefulness from members.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Cons\"><\/span><strong>Cons:&nbsp;<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Often, differences of opinion can arise between the Society Managers and the other <a href=\"https:\/\/adda.io\/blog\/2020\/10\/responsibilities-of-society-management\/\">Management Committee members<\/a> on a myriad of subjects.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Managers have to be available for phone calls even on certain holidays.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stakeholders often expect escalation of matters at odd hours.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There are no fixed working hours.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-vivid-cyan-blue-color has-text-color\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Challenges_tackled_by_Society_Managers\"><\/span><strong>Challenges tackled by Society Managers<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Managing huge communities on a day-to-day basis is no easy task and it comes as no surprise that managers face multiple challenges at their job. Shedding light on some of these challenges, Mr. Vinod K C says, \u201cSometimes, residents ask for certain works that are not covered in the common area maintenance schedules I often come across conflict among the members on odd topics. In case of beehives or bees, some residents do not want any harm to be inflicted on the bees whereas others regard them to be a nuisance and wish to get rid of them by any means.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Diplomacy is an important virtue in a position like this. Residents may point out flaws in the working of the staff. In such scenarios managers have to carefully maintain an atmosphere of peace by keeping a balance between heeding to resident\u2019s complaints and addressing them with the staff.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPeople&#8217;s skills are very helpful.\u201d Mr. Vinod K C adds. \u201cYou can\u2019t always say no to customers.
