ADDA in 2026: Stronger, Safer, and Battle Proven

by Harshvardhan Sharma

Trust is not something you claim. It is something you earn over time.

For communities that rely on a digital platform to manage their daily operations, trust matters even more. The platform holds resident names, phone numbers, financial records, visitor logs, and many other pieces of information that must be protected with extreme care.

For many years now, ADDA has built its reputation around a simple principle. Resident data is not a product to be monetised. It is a responsibility to be protected.

Today, as we step into 2026, ADDA stands stronger than ever. The platform is now battle proven, backed by global security certifications and strengthened infrastructure that ensures communities can rely on it with confidence.

A Privacy First Platform From Day One

In the CommunityTech space in India, many platforms follow advertising driven business models. These models depend on monetising user data in different ways.

ADDA chose a very different path.

From the beginning, ADDA followed a traditional SaaS model where communities pay for the software they use. This approach allowed ADDA to avoid building business models that rely on selling or exploiting resident data.

Because of this philosophy, data privacy has always remained at the core of how the platform is built and operated.

For management committees and housing societies, this distinction is important. The data that exists inside a community management platform is extremely sensitive. It includes the details of residents, their contact information, their homes, vehicles, and sometimes financial records.

Protecting this information is not optional. It is essential.

The Cyberattack That Tested Everything

In February 2025, ADDA experienced a malicious cyberattack on one of its AWS hosted servers.

Cyberattacks today are an unfortunate reality across the digital world. Even the most sophisticated organisations face them. The real measure of a company is not whether an attack happens, but how quickly and responsibly the company responds.

In this case, the unusual activity was detected by ADDA’s server monitoring systems almost immediately. The internal team began containment actions within an hour.

The breach involved exposure of limited basic information such as names, email addresses, phone numbers and encrypted passwords. No financial data, documents, or addresses were compromised.

The incident triggered a full scale response from the organisation.

External cybersecurity experts were engaged. AWS security specialists joined the investigation. Cloud forensic experts analysed the systems to understand exactly what had happened.

At the same time, communication was sent to customers explaining the situation transparently.

What Happened Next

Once the attack was confirmed, ADDA immediately activated backup infrastructure and began rebuilding and strengthening the platform.

The affected servers were shut down and secure alternate infrastructure was deployed. Investigations continued in collaboration with cybersecurity partners.

The company also ensured that the incident was formally reported to the relevant authorities through CERT In, India’s national cybersecurity incident response organisation.

For customers, this meant that the platform continued to operate while deeper investigations and security improvements were carried out.

Transparency remained a priority throughout the process. Updates were shared with communities across different regions so that they remained informed about what was happening and what actions were being taken.

A Complete Security Overhaul

The incident became a turning point for ADDA’s security infrastructure.

The company used the opportunity to completely strengthen its systems and processes.

The result is a significantly stronger platform with multiple layers of security validation.

One of the most important milestones was the achievement of the ISO 27001 certification. This is one of the most respected global standards for information security management systems. It ensures that strict policies and processes are followed when handling sensitive information.

ADDA also achieved certification aligned with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, which confirms that the platform’s policies and processes are compliant with the country’s evolving data protection laws.

In addition to this, independent agencies conducted Annual Vulnerability and Penetration Testing, commonly known as VAPT.

These tests simulate real world cyberattacks in a controlled manner to identify weaknesses before malicious actors can exploit them. The platform was certified to be free from known vulnerabilities after these tests.

For customers who want deeper transparency, ADDA has also established a dedicated Trust Center where detailed information about its security architecture, encryption practices, and compliance frameworks is available.

Why This Matters for Housing Communities

For many housing societies, digital platforms have become essential infrastructure.

Maintenance billing, financial accounting, visitor management, helpdesk requests, community communication, and even facility bookings are handled through these systems.

That means the platform becomes a central repository of highly sensitive information about the entire community.

If the platform is not built with strong security and privacy practices, the risk is significant.

The responsibility also increasingly falls on management committees. Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, committees can be considered data fiduciaries, meaning they are responsible for how resident data is handled.

Choosing the right technology partner therefore becomes an important governance decision for any community.

The Reality of Cybersecurity Today

The unfortunate reality is that cyberattacks today affect organisations across the world.

In recent years, even globally respected institutions and companies have experienced similar incidents. Universities, large technology firms, and multinational corporations have all been targets.

No company in the digital world can honestly promise that an attack will never happen.

What truly matters is preparation, response speed, transparency, and continuous improvement.

In that sense, ADDA has truly come out battle hardened.

Battle Hardened for the Future

After working with top cybersecurity experts and completing multiple audits and certifications, ADDA today operates with stronger systems than ever before.

The platform has been tested, improved, and validated by independent agencies.

More importantly, the company chose transparency instead of silence. Customers were informed, regulators were notified, and security improvements were implemented quickly.

As we move into 2026, ADDA continues to stay committed to the same values that shaped the platform from the beginning.

Protecting resident data.

Supporting responsible community governance.

And building technology that housing societies can depend on for the long run.
