At ADDA, we continuously look for ways to make community living smoother and smarter. One key area of focus has been the visitor approval flow — ensuring that approvals happen quickly and without you getting disturbed.
Usually, when a visitor arrives, the first step is a notification that pops up on your phone. But sometimes you might miss it — maybe you’re in a meeting, away from your phone, or you simply don’t know who has come and want someone else at home to handle it. Notifications are easy to ignore, and when no one responds, the next step automatically kicks in — an automated IVR call goes to residents that ensures the visitor gets timely approval and doesn’t wait too long at the gate.
This was the flow. So we did our research — spoke to residents, reached out to communities across cities, and thought about the best way to make this IVR call process smarter. We found that the most efficient approach is to let you set a Primary and Secondary contact for your unit. If the app alert isn’t responded, the system auto-calls the Primary contact first; if there’s no response, it then calls the Secondary — one after the other, not all at once. So if you’re busy, you can assign someone who can actually approve quickly, avoiding unnecessary disturbance while keeping the approval process smooth and efficient.
Benefits:

- No disturbance for busy residents — If you’re in meetings or on DND you can simply opt out of approval calls. The system respects your preference and routes calls to the designated contact instead.
- Faster gate clearances — the call goes to the Primary contact first, if no response then it goes to the secondary person, so a single decision-maker approves quickly, reducing retries and queue time at the gate.
- Less chaos at home — calls ring one person at a time rather than the whole unit, eliminating overlapping conversations and keeping household routines calm.
How it Works

Step 1: Go to More section in the ADDA App.
Step 2: Navigate to the gatekeeper Settings.
Step 3: Set up the primary and secondary contact for your unit.
Conclusion:
The sequential IVR feature replaces chaos with calm, so the right person answers first, visitor entries move faster, and your day stays interruption-free. Set your Primary and secondary contact once and adjust anytime as per the need, and let approvals run on autopilot while you focus on what matters.
