We spoke to few of the Participants regarding the “Managing Public Money” – A Workshop for Treasurers, below is what they had to say.
when you are in the same room spending dedicated time on this topic that is very useful.
What I liked about the Workshop: Taking time off and getting into a room discussing the specific topic (Finance & Accounting in Residential Communities) with like-minded people. You might have online conversations, where ppl are engaged on and off depending on their frame of mind. But when you are in the same room spending dedicated time on this topic that is very useful. It didn’t appear too much ADDA advertising. Problems are common across Apartment Complexes is what I realized. People come up with innovative ways for handling issues creating revenue opportunities.. it is good to share those.. Arathi what she’s doing is pretty interesting.. Challenge is to implement all these best practices. So many people are doing much more than what you are doing and vice versa.

Open questions from Audience regarding which of the builders have transferred Corpus Fund etc. was very useful.
You conducted the workshop really well. I have already started giving inputs to MC forum. Ideas on Bill structuring, interaction with Society Auditor. Inputs from Brigade Metropolis was good. RK Misra speech was good, didn’t have opportunity to meet and talk. Open questions from Audience regarding which of the builders have transferred Corpus Fund etc. was very useful. Told MC about BESCOM integration, and they are excited.

Now it (Treasurer’s job) feels it is not thankless as lot of people doing good job.
We are a new association so the understanding that we must appoint an Auditor from the get go, was one of the main learnings. Both of us (Office Bearers) are from non-accounting domain, helped us understand some of the basic requirements of society accounting. It was good to see lot of people involved, which really gave confidence in what we are doing. This is known as thankless job.. now it feels it is not thankless as lot of people doing good job, and there’s scope of doing lot of good work. Those were revelations. We both really were very happy after the session.

Thank you I appreciate and acknowledge the professional effort of your team and yourself in enabling the sharing of best practices.
– Guhan Subramaniam, Treasurer, Rainbow Drive
RK Misra was very inspiring, Arathi’s and Brigade Metropolis presentation were very useful.
Fabulous Initiative, very useful. Sharing the benchmarking was helpful (e.g., best way of using Late Payment Interest). Most useful perspective is getting sense of what others are doing. RK Misra was very inspiring, Arathi’s and Brigade Metropolis presentation were very useful. It was purely accidental that we chose ADDA, without knowing there were so many features and functionalities.
– Kazi Zaman, Treasurer, Sobha Petunia
This is the best of all ADDA workshops I have attended.
– James Jacob, Treasurer, Samhita Square. Has attended maximum ADDA workshops!
You discuss with the other MCs and realize you are not the only one facing these situations.
Main Takeaways: There are lot of people with enthusiasm who want to cut cost, and increase revenue. That’s the way to go. Shared with MC. Every AMC increases by 15% or 20%, they also have increase in their salary etc. On the other side, it is difficult for ppl to increase the contribution as they are also facing inflation in their own lives. The MC wants to increase the Revenue by other means. Things went on well, brought in people who are part of committee, the workshop stuck to timing. You discuss with the other MCs and realize you are not the only one facing these situations.

the discussion around processes, best practices was very good.
Meeting up with spectrum of people and different ideas and aspects that came up was the best part.. Around service tax etc. All the topics were quite useful, the discussion around processes, best practices was very good.
– Bhaskar Dey, Treasurer, LGCL Ashlar
It was commendable that you didn’t always talk about ADDA.
It was wonderfully coordinated, contents were managed well. Didn’t speak much about ADDA and allowed everyone to speak. Lot of participation through ADDA, that’s the spirit, not much promotion. People were eager to talk about their problems and solution they had. You gave them space. It was commendable that you didn’t always talk about ADDA. You’ve created a nice platform. It was good for people to meet over a topic that was never spoken about in a platform like this, other than making grievance. ADDA has set up a great platform which I am impressed. Welldone. Mr. Misra gave good direction, about leadership.
